Filming the 9/11 Tribute Music Video
An emotive charity single and video to pay tribute to the 343 fire-fighters that made the ultimate sacrifice 15 years ago.
Fifteen years have passed since the terrorist attacks on September 11, 2001, a day that forever changed America and the world.
Over 3,000 people lost their lives that day in the shocking attacks, 343 of which were firefighters from the Fire Department of New York.
To pay tribute on the 15th anniversary of 9/11, a group of musicians got together to record a remarkable and emotive track titled “343: The Fallen”. Featuring some of the world’s foremost bagpipers, and led by The Red Hot Chilli Pipers, the track has been released to raise money for both the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service Family Support Trust and the FDNY Emerald Society. Both charities provide support to the families of firefighters.
Airborne Lens was extremely honoured to have been asked to film and produce the official music video to accompany the track. Filming began in May 2016 at the fire training college in Glasgow, before moving to Edinburgh to film the iconic scenes at Edinburgh Castle. The Bonnie Banks of Loch Lomond were the location for the final tribute scene. Further scenes were filmed during the studio recording session for the track, and footage from New York was also provided by FDNY Emerald Society Pipes and Drums.
